Well after attending the preview screening of the new DVD we were among the first in the que to pick up our own copy and with the profits going directly back in to running of Herts Shore it's well worth it!

Sunshine and blue sky’s welcomed us at Chicksands for the first round of king of dirt.
A lot of work had been put in the previous weeks by gethin and dowie to get the new line up and maybe running for the pro comp, Tim and the other guys had also put some work in during the week to get the lander finished. With some final alterations on the day and a little tweaking the line was finally running.

We hope you all have had a nice Christmas and New years, seems like ages ago now. 2007 has started rather mild in weather the department which has given us plenty of time to go out an ride + capture some new photos.

Most resent adventure being Herts shore which I think blew all of us away!
Jedi and the Herts lads have been busy building again! Check the photos to see what they have been up to.

Chicksands has 6 new galleries for you to browses through, starting from the days before Christmas, also show’s you a few new additions to the place.
Woburn has a couple of new galleries showing some of the changes that have taken place down there. Last but not least we have Corby, with one new gallery up.

Still fighting against the raging heat we've been out and about sampling some of our local trails . . .

Hot seems to be the order of the month! Plenty of riding being had with these long evenings (none of that dark by half 4 blcks!). Ton's of sweat, liquid and dust, that's the summer riding feeling, everything seems like so much more effort in the heat when all your body wants to do is kick back, max n spark a cold brew!

Still, not to be put off there's a host of new Chicksands galleries, Melbourn + Histon trails shoots waiting to be looked at and uploaded - all can be found in our media section and the latest race report from Timmmey has touched down.

Also the exclusive, or is it elusive Herts Shore . . . one of the sickest north shore spots in the UK. Total respect to Jedi and the Herts Shore crew firstly for the amount of effort and imagination they've put in to creating the spot and secondly for inviting us over and letting us shoot at will, the photo's will open your eye's to the progression of the UK north shore scene.

It was fantastic weather for the official opening of Chicksands 4x Track! Saturday the 3rd of June was the Dirt Jump comp with the official race opening of the 4x happening on the Sunday the 4th. The Dirt Comp saw some great riding with most of the notorious senior riders turning up to take part with only a few of the famous faces not showing. Read on>>

Beds Fat Trax Official 4X Opening

For the official opening and promotion of the clubs new 4-cross track Beds Fat Trax are organising a two day dirt jumping / 4X racing event.

To be held on the 3rd + 4th of June 2006 at Rowney Warren, Chicksands the event program is as follows:

Early - 11.00 Jumps open for practice runs

12.00 - 16.00 Dirt jump competition

Categories: Youth - Senior

Entry Fee: £10

Day 2 – Sunday 4th June – 4X Racing

9.00 - 11.00 4X open for practice runs

12.00 - 16.00 4X racing competition

Categories: Juvenile - Youth - Senior - Master - Pro-Elite - Ladies

Entry Fees: Pro-Elite - £20 All other - £15

Prizes:

Pro-Elite category: 1st place - £300, 2nd place - £200, 3rd place - £100.

At the moment all other prize details are still to be finalised but there will be a selection of cash & prizes from top sponsors.

www.northshorefreeriders.com got hacked recently but is now back online so spread the word that their back up n running. You will need to re log-on so you can be part of NSF. Look for some all new fresh sections! so please help and get posting!

As always so many things going on not enough hours in the day! Over at Chicksands the 4x is well underway now with 2 rollers and berm in so far. Work is happening most weekends and all help is welcome. On the dirt jump side of things a new line is being built next to the six pack, these starting small and gradually getting bigger. Over in the freeride section there is another bit of new shore. Chicksands riders be warned there has been a lot of rubbish been left in the woods which is causing major problems so please take all rubbish with you.

The skatepark in St neots is all finished! official opening coming soon, It is riding now though. The vert ramp is in and looks colossal!! At the back of the vert on the street section you now have a huge vert wall and I do mean huge! photos to follow. Well worth the trip on a dry day as ramps are metal.

We will try and make you aware of updates but keep your eyes open.

Since December we have added another 5 photo galleries from chicksands which i'm sure you guys have already discovered.

We have been having a major problem with people Spamming our bookbook and at one point we had to take it off-line for a while. Timmy has solved the problem for now, any entries and comments to the bookbook now have to be audited before they go up! So sorry if you experience a delay, we'll try to get them up as soon as we can, usually within a few hours.

New to SmokeRiders this year, Timmmey (aka Phil Gray) is writing race reports for the UK Downhill races that he competes in. The first race report is already up here.

Timmmey rides for RaveRaceing and writes for their web site as well www.raveracing.co.uk & is often spotted ripping around Chicksands finding new lines and scaring people with his big dog!

It was an early start Sunday with it being comp day up at Chicksands, we had to be up early as we said we would help out with the setting up, normally these days generate a good turn out. I was instantly on the phone to Timmy to make sure he was up, he also had Ben crashing over to save time… Josh was also down our way staying at lil Dan's. First job was to get us all up there which was no major drama but I was gutted as I thought I was up first for once! It seems I was wrong . . read on >>

4X coming soon . . . . . .

- Nearly 2 months has past since the last news update and we have been busy bees… Sorry it’s a been a while but we have been playing around with something new for the site which we are sure you will like plus it was coming to the end of the long sunny evening so we have been ridin hard before those dark winter evenings….

- In the mean time let me just give you a brief run down, if you have not already found the new media…we have another 2 gallery categorises, St Neots skatepark, Riders photos. Both these are new but keep your eyes open for new photos updates as we maybe busy playing with new ideas to post up. Chicksands has 6 photo updates including the most recent visit 09/10/05.

- The winter is creeping up on us now which means shorter days and less riding and more ‘flash shots’ but lets not forget…Its perfect for digging and its perfect for chicksands! Keep riding, Keep digging and keep comin back!

After strong opposition from our gallery software we have now got the media video clips up and running. The first load we’ve sorted is the clips from the King of Dirt round 2 @ Chicksands – 26 June 2005, 57 shorts of the quality action that all of us were lucky enough to be there experienced. Enjoy

We now have a gallery program up and running handling our media, this means that you can add comments, search descriptions and comment etc. as with all the site expect to see subtle, even major changes in the future as we continue to evolve the site.

The book is now up and running so you can all have an input if ya like. It's been up a couple of days as some of you will know as you've signed it but have only just got around to announcing it!

So get to it, let see what ya'll sayin. Add comments to other entries if you like cause we will!, you can upload images up to 800 x 800 as well just's so's you knows . . .

So we finally got around to getting the photo's from the 19th of June @ Chickz uploaded, another 132 to the collection!

The King of dirt round 2 @ Chicksands when very well with some sick moves being thrown around and a good crowd to cheers the boyz on. Prop's to the organizers of the event for it's smooth running and those of you who made it will no how good the burgers where!!

After a seriously hard graft we've managed to get through all the photo's from last Sunday. From 331 photo's we've cut it down to 126 across Chickz + the Chalk Pits and uploaded them for your viewing pleasure!

So its been a busy week, second set of the Cambridge Chalk Pit photos went up today. We are currently working on all the photos from last week and there is allot!

We started the day at chickz, anyone at chickz that day may have heard "Stolen bike" echoing around the woods as i was riding my hire bike, you will see by the pics what i mean, my bike is back now which is all good. We then went on to the chalk pits in cambridge as you will see in our next up date...

Uploaded the first of the Cambridge Chalk Pit photos today, still working on a couple of more set to upload hopefully over the weekend if all goes well . . .

So, we finally got the new site layout uploaded on the 12.06.05 and have spent all this time since making it work properly! I think I've got it sussed but if you spot anything outa line then please let us know, cheers.

Uploaded the photo's from last Sunday (29.05.05) @ Chickz today, we've been working hard on the new site layout and also getting the news section on-line so you’ll know what’s going on with the site as it develops.

Also the contact is set up, it only works with an email client like outlook at the mo but it'll be better soon . . .

Got some good shots @ Chickz today (and some bad one’s which I’m blaming on my shoulder!!) and good feedback on the site, cheers dudes. Just starting to play with a new site layout now it's taking its shape, we'll get some more content into the existing site while we're working on the new on . . . Was surprised to see so many people keeping their eyes on it as it’s only in the early dayz, respec!

Uploaded more photo galleries today and got some more photos ready for the site. Still playing around with ideas of how / what the site will be so it could be a bit sketchy for a while but hang in there!

So, it's nearly a week since my mate Smithy rang all excited about acquiring a web domain name, www.smokeriders.co.uk, and we've been working hard at trying to do something good with it! It's strictly 'word of mouth' affair for now until we get our headz around what its gona be, what's gona be on it,how we're gona do it, and why would you (and us) want to look at it!

As luck would have it I've recently broken my shoulder, . . . and happen to have loadz of time on my hands, we'll at least one of them! and we've got loadz done and uploaded and have lots of ideas to improve the site in the future. We'll be scoping you all for feedback (you know who you are) so nice one!
